EUROJOBS rebels against the crisis

Thursday 23. of July 2009 at 16:48 Age: (1 years earlier)

Since January 180 additional employees has been employed in Austria. “In the first half of the year 2009 the economic crisis had effects on EUROJOBS as well” says Mr. Zehetner to the development of the industry of personnel leasing and of EUROJOBS in particular.

“The turnover of 2009 shows a reduction of about 20 percent and is similar to the year 2006” according to Mr. Zehetner who has had experiences in personnel leasing for more than twenty years. He stresses that after two remarkable years the year 2009 will be year at an average.

For the current year 2009 a turnover of about 80 TEUR to 85 TEUR and a balanced operating income is expected. 60 percent of the expected turnover will be generated in Austria.

Compared to its competitors the turnover variance of EUROJOBS has been rather low. “That’s because EUROJOBS has not been a supplier for the automobile industry, but has been specialized on small- and medium sized companies and provides more than 1000 customers in Austria with very skilled employees” said Mr. Zehetner. An advantage for EUROJOBS is the diversification on different sectors. EUROJOBS services customers that operate in the craft sector, IT-sector, offers employees for advanced technical occupations, for the catering industry, medical industry and for many other different industries. Mr. Zehetner mentions: We are still looking for skilled workers especially for our customers operating in the craft sector. This is one reason why EUROJOBS has employed 180 additional employees in Austria since January. Mr. Zehetner announces: “Depending on orders we will employ about 200 or 300 more workers, mainly qualified labour working in the craft industry.

Inspecting and adjusting structures

Certainly EUROJOBS, as a supplier of personnel leasing, uses crises to check its company structures and to make any necessary adjustments. For EUROJOBS this means that the expansion to Eastern European countries has been temporarily stopped and the overhead costs has been adjusted according to the current orders.

“The year 2009 is the year of consolidations; practically no fundamental investments in market expansion are going to take place. Only when the economic recovery is permanent expansions will be considered again” says Mr. Zehetner.

Victims of industrial problems

Especially non-skilled workers are the victims of economic crises, but as well skilled labour are affected. However these workers did contribute to the rapid increase of the industry of suppliers of personnel leasing during the last years and these are as well the ones – for Mr. Zehetner only temporary – who have now contributed to the rapid decrease of the industry of personnel leasing. Nevertheless Mr. Zehetner is convinced, that already in the year 2010 and definitely in 2011 the demand for personnel leasing is increasing considerably.

Temporary employees/personnel leasing as important means for human resources management

In times of crisis temporary employees are relevant for the management of human resources of EUROJOBS customers. In case of sudden additional orders or in case of absence due to illness or vacation temporary employees are needed.

In spite of consolidations and the self-regulatory nature of the market there will be more than 1000 supplier of personnel leasing companies available after the crisis. Mr. Zehetner invites unemployed people to apply for jobs at one of the suppliers of personnel leasing. Further Mr. Zehetner informs about a lack of information: workers employed at suppliers of personnel leasing and leased to customers do work for the same conditions as permanent employees of the customers do.
