A gasp of relief for Temporary employment agencies in upper Austria
Professional representative Gerhart Zehetner: economic situation is recovering. The second quarter of 2009 has been a recovery for temporary employment agencies in upper Austria. According to a current study of the economy the economic indicators of the sector have been improving mainly.The study was carried out by the organisation of small and medium-sized companies and done for the chamber of commerce of upper Austria.
"This tendency has kept up within the third quarter" says Mr. Zehetner and has a justified reason to be positive about the development. "Shortly there seems to be an end of the economic crisis for a lot of industries where temporary employment agencies have been operating in.
Companies questioned for the study had an increase of customers of 20,3 % from April to June. During the first quarter a decrease of 0,7 % was recorded.
Simultaneously the number of temporary employment agencies that were forced to take back temporary workers due to minor utilization capacity of their customers was reduced from 68,2 to 59,4 percent. You can seee this as well on the lower percentage of temporary employees taken back in relation to all temporary employees employed by all customers. This percentage declined from 6,1 to 3,9 percent.
According to Mr. Zehetner a sign for the recovery of the economy is the lower percentage of terminated employment contracts of employees that are taken back from customers. There was a reduction from 58,9 % to 46,5 %
The need of the service of temporary employment agencies is increasing again and the economyc situation has been stabilised. This is - among other things - due to the fact, that about 50 % of all companies couldn't fill job vacancies because of inadequate canditates. Three months ago the percentage was only 40.
If the positive uptrend is going to be continued during the last quarter depends on the weather conditions says Mr. Zehetner. If it is possible for the craft and building industry to work through the winter the uptrend will be continuing, if there is a cold winter the uptrend will slow down.
"There is no doubt that the industry of personnel leasing is going to grow rapidly, when the economic crisis is finished. Definitely obove exptections of those who have sceptical views towards the industry"underlines Mr. Zehetner.
